The Apel Court has upheld the initial ruling denying pre-trial detention for three individuals implicated in the “one million euro” case. The decision, issued following a review of the situation, affirms the Basic Court’s previous ruling against detaining Aurel Kaziu, a State Police officer stationed at Tirana’s Number 5 Police Station, along with Ardit Laska and Etnik Ahmaxhokaj. This ruling follows a series of court decisions regarding the case.
The Supreme Court previously overturned the Apel Court’s decision to impose pre-trial detention on the three suspects. This resulted in two rulings from the Basic Court, two from the Apel Court, and one from the Supreme Court. Initially, the Basic Court had ruled against detaining the individuals.
The Apel Court’s latest decision represents the final determination in this protracted legal process.
