Customs officials in Macedonia seized 12.5 tons of fruit and perishable goods at the port of Bogorodicë. The total value of the confiscated items was estimated at 1.4 million dinars. The seizure occurred during a routine inspection at the port of entry, which serves as a gateway for international trade.
Officers identified 750 kilograms of goods awaiting declaration, including a significant quantity of avocado. Specifically, 3 tons of avocado were among the seized items. Additionally, the customs officials confiscated 2.5 tons of spiced meat, 600 kilograms of broccoli, and 2.3 tons of lettuce.
The inventory also included 3.3 tons of kiwi and 40 kilograms of kiwi. All of the goods were confiscated as part of the standard port entry procedure. The exact reason for the seizure was not immediately available, but customs officials confirmed the goods were subject to inspection and ultimately confiscated during the process.
