A man has been arrested in the Kumanovo region following an investigation into a fire that damaged a foreign Macedonian property. The incident was initially reported by Gazeta Express on March 16, 2026, at 13:13. Yesterday, the Kumanovo regional police took into custody an individual, believed to be responsible for setting a blaze involving dry grass and agricultural waste in the Çellopek village.
This action led to a fire impacting the land owned by a 60-year-old man residing in Kumanova. On March 15, 2026, at 12:55, officers from the Internal Affairs Sector in Kumanovo apprehended D.P., a resident of Algunjë, within the Staro Nagorican municipality. He is now suspected of deliberately burning grass and agricultural refuse in Çellopek.
This activity subsequently caused a fire on the property of G.S. (60), located in Kumanova, resulting in significant damage to several trees. The Territorial Unit of Firefighters from Staro Nagorican successfully extinguished the resulting blaze.
The arrested man is currently under investigation.
