Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, the sister-in-law of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, was arrested in Los Angeles by ICE on April 8, 2026. Following the arrest, Zarea Mandani reacted strongly. Soleimani Afshar had previously been subject to a restraining order.
This order stemmed from accusations of harassment and stalking against Mandani, her former partner. In 2024, Soleimani Afshar is suspected of repeatedly contacting and concerning Mandani at his home and workplace. As a result of these actions, she was issued a five-year restraining order.
Upon learning of her arrest by ICE, Mandani stated, “Thank God. This is good. She is a stalker.
She is a crazy woman. Thank God that she has been stopped.”
