Kosovo Police Conduct Operation Resulting in Arrests of Suspected Fraudsters
A large-scale police operation concluded across several regions of Kosovo, resulting in the arrest of 34 individuals suspected of involvement in organized pyramid schemes and illegal trafficking activities. The operation, conducted in conjunction with the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, targeted locations within Mitrovica, Vuçitrre, Istog, and Skënderaj municipalities. Over the course of the operation, approximately 50 different locations were examined, including commercial establishments and private residences.
Authorities focused on investigating suspected criminal activities related to fraudulent investment schemes. During the investigation, law enforcement seized a significant amount of evidence, totaling approximately 170,000 euros in cash, alongside five vehicles and several firearms. Additionally, various pieces of equipment believed to be utilized in the suspected illegal operations were collected.
“34 suspected individuals have been arrested, and the areas have been checked,” stated a joint release from the Kosovo Police and the Basic Prosecution. The investigation is ongoing, and further details regarding the charges against the arrested individuals are expected to be released. This police operation underscores continued efforts to combat financial crime within Kosovo.
