The parents of a five-year-old boy from Lipjan have been placed under house arrest for 48 hours; the child is in a serious condition at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.

A five-year-old boy from Lipjan was taken to the Central Emergency Department of KKUK, having been initially directed there by KKMF Lipjan following severe injuries. The child’s parents are currently in custody, facing accusations of failing to fulfill their familial responsibilities.

The Head of the Basic Public Prosecution in Pristina, Kaltrina Shala, addressed this situation in a statement to Telegrafin. She confirmed that the two suspects are being held for a 48-hour period. According to Shala, the State Prosecutor will, within the prescribed legal timeframe, present a request for an arrest warrant to the appropriate court.

She further explained that the detention stems from a credible suspicion of having committed criminal offenses. The parents, residents of lipjan, are currently under investigation. The State Prosecutor will determine the next steps in the legal process.

The investigation is ongoing, and the two suspects remain in custody for the duration of the 48-hour period.
