The AKR party, led by Vesel Makhalli, has affirmed it remains intact. Gazeta Express reported this news on March 12, 2026, at 2:03 PM. Makhalli explained the party’s inability to conduct internal elections stemmed from the simultaneous local and national elections held last year.
During an interview on KTV, he detailed their request for a four-month postponement of the electoral deadline. This request, however, was ultimately denied. He emphasized that the AKR has not dissolved, but rather, has been placed on suspension.
Makhalli clarified that immediate elections would prevent the party from operating as a unified entity. He added that the AKR could potentially reappear on the list of the LDK. “The suspension occurred because we faced difficulties in fulfilling the four-year requirement for the Internal Electoral Congress, which concluded in early March.” This situation underscores the challenges faced by the party under Makhalli’s leadership.
