Juventus has decided on the hierarchy of the defenders for the remainder of the season.

Juventus has finalized its goalkeeping arrangement for the upcoming season. As reported by “Gazzetta dello Sport,” Michele Di Gregorio is no longer the team’s primary goalkeeper moving forward. Mattia Perin is now anticipated to be the main goalkeeper for Juventus through the 2026-27 season.

Di Gregorio experienced several significant errors throughout the 2025-26 season. These mistakes resulted in a suspension for his performance in the last four matches, encompassing Serie A and the decisive second leg of the Champions League playoff against Galatasaray. Coach Luciano Spalletti initially proposed that Perin would play a limited number of games – two or three – to reduce the pressure on Di Gregorio.

However, this strategy has evolved, with Perin now having played four games. The situation isn’t anticipated to shift significantly until the conclusion of the current season. Juventus has definitively decided on this goalkeeper hierarchy, prioritizing Perin’s role as the team’s starting goalkeeper.
