The Assembly of the Republic today must elect a new public state prosecutor.

The Parliament is convening for its 94th session today, with a key item on the agenda being the election of Nenad Saveski as the State Public Prosecutor. Saveski, presently a judge at the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, was put forward by the Government on March 10th for this role. Securing his position necessitates at least 61 votes from the parliamentary members.

This candidacy follows the resignation of the previous Prosecutor, Ljupčo Kokevski, and occurred after a thorough selection process involving five distinct candidates. The appointment represents a significant step for the state. Nenad Saveski, born in 1976 and residing in Gostivar, possesses a Master’s degree in Criminal Law.

He earned this advanced degree at the “Justinianus Primus” Faculty of Law within the Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, completing both his Master’s program and his overall legal studies there. He successfully passed his final examination, solidifying his qualifications for the demanding role of public prosecutor.
