Four workers died in a devastating accident at a construction site in Vienna, Austria. The Austrian embassy in the city has verified that three of the four deceased individuals were citizens of Kosovo. “Krone,” the local Austrian newspaper, provided on-the-scene reporting, describing the events that transpired.
Around 14:00, the tragedy occurred within the courtyard of an apartment building located on Porzellangasse. The incident involved work being undertaken to strengthen the upper floor extension of the building. Suddenly, the scaffolding and concrete form gave way, trapping five workers above it.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and stated that the newly constructed structure collapsed unexpectedly, instantly engulfing the workers. Concrete and other building materials completely covered the victims. Telegrafi reported this immediate and catastrophic outcome.
The situation was incredibly swift and resulted in the loss of life. Investigations are underway to determine the precise cause of this tragic event.
