Bajrami stated that he made the choice to not contest the election when he realized political parties were unwilling to support a unifying and truly independent leader.

He emphasized that at the crucial moment when the dominant parties rejected a candidate for the sake of unity, a candidate with substantial experience, he subsequently withdrew his own candidacy. “It became evident that our political leaders were not genuinely interested in electing a credible Head of State,” Bajrami clarified. “Instead, they sought a president they could control, effectively transforming him into a tool for their everyday political strategies.”
