Restrictions on visits for a person named Thaçi have been lifted, but they will be closely observed.

The Specialist Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague have made a significant adjustment to procedures. They have lifted the restriction on single visits, however, this change comes with a crucial condition: all visits must be carefully monitored. Judge Christopher Gosnell, presiding over the trial involving Thaçi and others concerning the obstruction of justice, has delivered a ruling regarding the review of Hashim Thaçi’s detention conditions.

KosovaPress reports that this decision follows a specific assessment. The announcement from the Specialist Chambers clearly states that the sole judge lifted the prohibition of non-privileged visits by a person for whom restrictions had previously been imposed. This was done on the condition that visits are monitored.

Judge Gosnell maintained the existing restrictions on non-privileged visits to Thaçi against certain individuals. As stated in the announcement, he found these restrictions still necessary and proportionate. The trial continues.

The decision impacts the ability for a person to conduct visits.
