Kadri Veseli continues to be under house arrest.

The trial involving former KLA commanders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi has concluded following the examination of all witnesses and the absence of any new evidence. Despite this, the four defendants remain held in custody. Recently, the judges of the Special Court took action to lift Kadri veseli’s detention order.

This decision occurred even though the judges had previously acknowledged the lack of risk regarding his escape and the absence of any indication that he could sway witnesses. The judges’ ruling highlighted the Special Prosecutor’s Office’s persistent repetition of arguments already scrutinized and dismissed. These arguments centered on Kadri veseli’s accountability for the charges against him, the possibility of a substantial prison sentence, and the evidence presented.

Furthermore, the judges affirmed that the ongoing legal proceedings would continue. The judges’ decision underscores the complexities surrounding the case and the continued efforts of the prosecution to pursue the charges against Kadri veseli.
