KFOR states that the training exercises for Serbian soldiers along the border with Kosovo do not represent a threat; it was pre-planned. The operation was part of a scheduled program and posed no danger.

Residents of multiple villages around Gjilan voiced worries on Tuesday concerning the conduct of Serbian soldiers carrying out training operations close to the border with Kosovo. KFOR communicated to Telegraf that the Serbian Armed Forces’ actions were a scheduled exercise, specifically involving paratroopers deployed from a helicopter in the village of Muhovc. The organization affirmed that this activity occurred entirely within Serbian territory and presented no danger to regional security or stability.

KFOR emphasized its ongoing, vigilant monitoring of the situation along the Administrative Border Line and across Kosovo. They maintained consistent communication and effective coordination with local security forces and the Chief of Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces. “KFOR’s mission, led by NATO, remains focused on observing the circumstances along the border and throughout Kosovo,” the response detailed.

Previously, a report had highlighted the situation, but KFOR’s statement underscored the planned nature of the Serbian exercises and their adherence to established protocols. The organization’s continued engagement with the Serbian Armed Forces is a key element in ensuring a peaceful and secure environment.
