Kurti: Talks with the LDK did not succeed, I was offered four ministries and the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

Kurti Reports Unsuccessful Talks with LDK Regarding Coalition Government

Prishtina – Vetëvendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti announced on April 20, 2026, that discussions with LDK leader Lumir Abdixhik regarding the formation of a coalition government were ultimately unsuccessful. Kurti stated that the LDK rejected the coalition proposal presented by his movement. During a press briefing, Kurti explained that Vetëvendosje offered a coalition government structure, including the position of Deputy Prime Minister, and four ministerial portfolios.

Specifically, the offer included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and three additional ministries. Kurti emphasized that he had requested Lumir Abdixhik assume the role of Deputy Prime Minister. “The talks concluded without a successful outcome,” Kurti stated.

“Neither the proposed coalition government nor the individual offers – encompassing the Deputy Prime Minister position and the four ministries – were accepted by Mr. Abdixhik.”

The discussions between kurti and the LDK centered on establishing a governing partnership. The LDK’s rejection of the offers represents a significant obstacle to forming a government in Prishtina.

Further developments regarding the political landscape are anticipated.
