Kosovo Parliament Continues Debate on Energy Sector Legislation
Pristina – The Kosovo Parliament held a continued special session on Thursday, primarily addressing ongoing developments within the country’s energy sector. The session saw a significant verbal exchange between representatives of the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) concerning proposed draft laws related to energy and electricity. The core of the disagreement centered on the expedited processing of these legislative proposals.
Vetëvendosje Member of Parliament Rozeta Hajdari highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that she had received a letter from the Energy Community earlier that day. This letter formally requested the Parliament prioritize the review and approval of the draft energy and electricity laws. “Yesterday I received a letter from the Energy Community requesting that the Parliament process the draft law for energy and electricity,” Hajdari stated during the debate.
The opposition, specifically PDK deputies, were addressed by Hajdari, who questioned their level of engagement with the critical issues. The session continued with discussions focused on the potential implications of the Energy Community’s request and the timeline for legislative action within the energy sector.
