Kosovo has experienced a period of significant disruption over the past 24 hours, marked by a series of serious incidents. Police reports detail a concerning number of accidents, resulting in tragic outcomes and widespread damage. There have been two fatalities recorded during this timeframe, alongside a substantial number of other accidents.
A total of 27 accidents led to injuries, while 29 further accidents caused damage to property. The situation underscores the need for heightened caution on the roads. A considerable number of traffic violations were also addressed.
A total of 2,348 traffic tickets were issued to drivers. One particularly devastating accident occurred in Prizren on March 18th, around 18:40. Investigations suggest a driver’s negligence was responsible for the incident, with the driver striking a pedestrian at a road crossing.
Tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries in hospital, resulting in two fatalities. Following the prosecutor’s instructions, the body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy. The driver has been taken into custody for questioning.
