Vetëvendosje MP Addresses Allegations of Speech Preparation
Prishtina – Parliamentary Group member Fatos Geci of the Vetëvendosje (Self-Determination Movement) has responded to claims made by his uncle, Gani Geci, regarding the preparation of a speech delivered in parliament. Gani Geci asserted that a Vetëvendosje member provided him with the speech text. In a public statement, Gani Geci alleged that a close associate of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Speaker of Parliament Glauk Konjufca drafted the speech read by Fatos Geci.
“I want to be recorded as opposing those who distanced themselves from Fatos Geci’s speech,” Gani Geci stated. The statement continued, “I have a word for Vetëvendosje: one of Vetëvendosje’s MPs, a close associate of Albin Kurti and Glauk Konjufca… a Vetëvendosje MP gave him the letter.”
Fatos Geci has not yet issued an official statement directly addressing his uncle’s claims. The situation raises questions about potential connections between individuals within the Vetëvendosje movement and the content of parliamentary speeches.
