Prime Minister Albin Kurti highlighted two significant issues facing Kosovo during a visit to the Islamic Community of Kosovo for Fitr Bayram. These concerns included escalating border provocations and the rising cost of oil. Kurti addressed recent Serbian military drills occurring close to the Kosovo border.
He asserted that these border provocations are becoming more intense, stemming from two key shortcomings. Firstly, Serbia lacks a properly organized internal structure. Secondly, they appear to believe they can control the entire region’s trajectory concerning European Union integrations.
Kurti emphasized that Brussels, acting as both a capital of the European Union and NATO, is responding with a conditional approach. Brussels is indicating that individuals seeking opportunities within the EU and NATO will need to meet domestic obligations. Kurti expressed his government’s commitment to safeguarding Kosovo’s sovereignty and security, particularly in light of these intensifying border provocations.
The situation underscores the ongoing challenges Kosovo faces in navigating regional dynamics and its aspirations for European integration.
