The Organized Crime and Corruption Prosecution has formally charged former state lawyer Fehmi Stafa, following an investigation into bribery claims. The prosecution’s statement details that Stafa, while employed as a legal professional at the time of his apprehension, sought to secure the release of suspect Lupço Pecov Djalli within the “Chain” case. The indictment alleges that between November and December 13, 2025, Stafa aimed to acquire unlawfully obtained funds.
This involved accepting a payment of 50,000 euros to actively mediate and leverage his legitimate influence to improperly affect a judge at the Appeals Court of Skopje. According to the Prosecution, this manipulation involved using a bribe to sway the execution of an official action that was, by law, unauthorized. The charges indicate a deliberate attempt to subvert judicial proceedings through illicit means.
The case centers around the actions of this former lawyer, stafa, and his involvement in the “Chain” matter.
