Former Kosovo U21 representative, Doni Arifi, has been called up to the Finland national team. Football Gazeta Express reported this on March 20, 2026, at 23:28. Following his departure from the Kosovo national team, Arifi has opted to continue his international career with another nation.

The former Kosovo U21 player has accepted the invitation to join the Finnish national team and will be participating in upcoming matches this month. Notably, Arifi, who was born and raised in Finland, progressed through several of the country’s national teams until 2023. Afrim Tovërlani invited him to play for the Kosovo U21.

He played in two matches with that team, but in 2024, he transitioned to the Finland U21 national team, where he made six appearances. At 23 years old, Doni Arifi currently plays as a midfielder for Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga. This move represents a full circle for the player, returning to represent the nation where he initially developed his footballing talent.
