Osmani Addresses Criticism of Municipal Visits in New Video Statement
Prishtina – Former country president Vjosa Osmani has responded to recent criticism surrounding her increased engagement with municipalities across Kosovo. In a released video statement, Osmani addressed claims that she had previously refrained from such visits. “Because there are people within politics complaining about why I am meeting citizens these days, some are even spreading misinformation that I did not do this earlier,” Osmani stated.
“Here is the truth. Throughout my five-year term, I have continuously visited municipalities, met citizens, and supported marginalized groups and been near vulnerable and elderly people in our country.”
The video included a photograph of former president Ibrahim Rugova in the background, a deliberate visual reference to a longstanding tradition of civic engagement within Kosovo. Osmani highlighted numerous meetings she has held with citizens and within various institutions.
During the statement, she subtly referenced the leadership style of the Lidhja e Demokrateve Srpske (SDS), without explicitly naming the party. The release of this video follows a period of scrutiny regarding Osmani’s activities and aims to clarify her commitment to direct engagement with communities throughout Kosovo’s municipalities.
