Albania has announced the roster for the World Cup qualifying play-off competition. Football Gazette reported this on March 21st, 2026, at 10:12. The Albanian national team’s initial play-off match for the 2026 World Cup will be against Poland on March 26th, taking place in Warsaw at 20:45.
Coach Silvinjo has published the list of 26 selected players for this initial encounter, and also for a possible game against Ukraine or Sweden scheduled for March 31st. Several players are receiving their first call-ups to represent Albania. Defenders Stavro Pilo and Bujar Pllana have been included in the squad.
The full list of 26 players comprises six goalkeepers: Thomas Strakosha, Elhan Kastrati, Mario Dajsinani. There are also six defenders: Mario Mitaj, Stavro Pilo, Naser Aliji, Berat Gjimshiti, Bujar Pllana, and Klisman Cake. Arlind Ajeti, Ardian Ismajli, Elseid Hysaj, and Ivan Balliu round out the defensive contingent.
