Osmani: VLEN has no weight in the Government, decisions are made by Mickoski

BDI Official Expresses Concerns Over VLEN’s Role in EU Integration Process

In a discussion on “Debate in Signs,” Bujar Osmani, deputy leader of the BDI political party, voiced surprise regarding the party’s stance against the European Union accession process, given its overwhelmingly pro-EU voter base. The comments centered on the influence, or lack thereof, of VLEN – the State Commission for the Control of Foreign Investment – within the government. Osmani asserted that VLEN’s decision-making autonomy has been effectively neutralized.

He explained that representatives of VLEN routinely consult with the Prime Minister daily, presenting concerns regarding potential legal violations. “The Prime Minister himself has stated that he spends more energy reconciling the leaders of VLEN than making any process progress,” Osmani stated. The discussion highlighted a perceived disconnect between VLEN’s role and the broader government strategy concerning EU integration.

The deputy leader’s remarks suggest a significant challenge in navigating the process, particularly with regard to the involvement of VLEN within the government structure. The conversation focused on the importance of VLEN’s function and its relationship with the government.
