Fuel prices are predicted to increase, and we have returned to the board, Rama from the PS in Parliament: If the price exceeds 220 lekë, the fuel excise tax will decrease by 20%.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, announced today at the Socialist Party gathering that the cost of fuel is projected to rise. During his address, the government leader affirmed that a 20% decrease in fuel excise taxes will be implemented if the price surpasses 220 Lek (approximately 2 euros). He emphasized that the price of oil is not only experiencing an upward trend but is also anticipated to continue its increase.

Consequently, the government has initiated the operation of the transparency board, a mechanism previously utilized. Furthermore, a specific decision has been made: for each day the fuel price exceeds 220 Lek, a 20% reduction in fuel excise taxes will take effect. Rama detailed this commitment during the Socialist Party Assembly meeting.

“The price of oil is not only rising, but it is also forecast to continue rising. Therefore, we have activated the transparency board, which we have used before. Similarly, we have made a decision that for each day the price exceeds 220 Lek, there will be a 20% reduction in oil excise taxes,” stated Rama from the Assembly of the Socialist Party meeting.
