Today in Blinaj, International Forestry Day was observed, featuring the unveiling of new strategies and programs for bolstering the forestry sector within Kosovo. Institutional leaders showcased a range of advancements dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the nation’s woodlands. Minister of Agriculture, Armend Muja, led the event, joined by the heads of the Kosovo Forestry Agency and the Kosovo Institute of Forestry, alongside relevant ministry personnel.
The minister detailed several specific actions designed to combat forest decline and enhance management practices across Kosovo. “Today I will sign a decision to donate 500,000 forest seedlings to all municipalities, institutions, and schools,” Muja stated. “This initiative will initiate a large-scale reforestation effort, directly tackling a significant challenge faced by Kosovo in recent years: the deterioration of its forestry resources.”
Furthermore, the ministry is implementing measures to improve forest management at a national level.
This includes a commitment to bolstering the forestry industry within Kosovo. The focus remains on sustainable practices and ensuring the long-term health and productivity of the region’s woodlands.
