The appointment of three deputy ministers, Bajrami tells Kurt: The government is resigning, there is no work there – it is appointing them to receive salaries.

Kosovo Opposition Criticizes New Deputy Minister Appointments

Hykmete Bajrami, a representative from the Democratic League of Kosovo, has expressed concern regarding the recent appointment of three deputy ministers by acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Bajrami’s comments, shared on Facebook, characterize the government’s current state as one of resignation. The criticism centers on the rationale behind the deputy minister appointments.

Kurti stated that the government is operating with limited capacity due to its current situation. He explained that the appointments are intended to provide salaries to government employees, rather than to address immediate operational needs. Bajrami argues that this action constitutes a misappropriation of public funds and an abuse of official position.

She contends that the appointment of these deputy ministers is a response to a government in a state of resignation, with no urgent need for additional support. “When a government is in a state of resignation, ministers have limited powers and do not work with full capacity. Precisely in this situation Kurti is appointing deputy ministers.

For what? Not for work, because there is no work, nor is there any urgent need, but he appoints them to receive salaries from the state budget, without doing anything,” Bajrami wrote. The focus remains on the allocation of resources and the perceived lack of productive activity within the government.

The appointment of deputy ministers is a key point of contention in the ongoing political discussion.
