Cadillac Enters Formula 1 with High-Performance CT5-V Blackwing
Cadillac is officially entering the world of Formula 1, marking its debut season with a significant unveiling. This weekend’s 2026 Miami Grand Prix will represent the team’s inaugural race on American soil, and to celebrate, the automaker is launching the CT5-V Blackwing. Production of this limited-edition model will be restricted, focusing on delivering enhanced performance.
The Blackwing builds upon the existing 6.2-liter V8 engine, boosting its power output from 668 horsepower to 685 horsepower through the addition of a supercharger. Cadillac is offering the sedan exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. To further elevate the driving experience, each CT5-V Blackwing incorporates the Precision package.
This includes upgraded suspension components, advanced braking systems, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The vehicles are finished in a distinctive Midnight Stone Frost paint. Adding to the connection with Formula 1, each car features visible marks, reflecting the sport’s technical regulations and standards.
These marks serve as a direct link between the Cadillac’s high-performance sedan and the world of Formula 1 racing. The Blackwing represents Cadillac’s ambitious entry into the sport.
