Peja Prosecutor’s Office Reports Progress in Alternative Dispute Resolution

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Peja announced significant advancements in its utilization of alternative procedures during the first four months of 2026. Between January and April, the office successfully concluded 100 cases through mediation, involving a total of 183 individuals. The initiative focused on resolving disputes outside of traditional courtroom proceedings.

The Prosecutor’s Office detailed that in three instances, temporary suspensions of the mediation process were implemented. In these cases, the involved suspects were required to contribute a total of 4,000 euros to the account of the SOS Children’s Village. This stipulation was a condition of resuming the mediation process.

Furthermore, the office reported reaching four agreements for admission of guilt, encompassing four separate individuals. These agreements represented a direct resolution to the underlying offenses. The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that during this period, further investigation was ongoing in several other cases.

The continued focus on alternative methods reflects the office’s commitment to efficient and constructive resolution of legal matters.
