Kosovo Central Bank Publishes Transparency Report Following IMF Review
The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BCR) has released its Fund for Monetary Operations (FMO) Central Bank Transparency Code Review Report. The report was produced at the request of the BCR, who sought technical assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bolster its transparency practices. This initiative aligns with the IMF’s global framework for evaluating central bank transparency, utilizing international best practices.
The publication represents a significant step in the BCR’s ongoing dedication to transparency, accountability, and clear communication with the public. As part of the review, the BCR undertook a thorough self-assessment, utilizing the FMO CBT questionnaire. This process involved internal training and capacity-building sessions facilitated by the IMF.
The review focused on assessing the bank’s adherence to established standards for central bank operations. The IMF’s involvement underscores the BCR’s commitment to aligning its procedures with globally recognized norms.
