The head of the U.S. military says Iran has attacked the United States more than ten times during the recent ceasefire.

U.S. Increases Military Presence in Strait of Hormuz Amid Iranian Threats

Washington – The United States has significantly increased its military posture in the Strait of Hormuz in response to what officials describe as Iran’s escalating maritime threats. According to U.S.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, Iran is actively “arming its global supply chain” through its activities within the strait. As part of Operation Freedom, the U.S. has established a “significant presence” over the strait, continuing a previously established blockade.

A newly designated “enhanced security zone” in the southern portion of the strait is now defended by U.S. ground, naval, and air assets. Caine stated that Iran has fired upon commercial vessels 90 times and seized two container ships since the recent ceasefire was declared.

He emphasized that the U.S. “can and will strike” in response to Iranian actions. Adding to the tensions, Iran has issued threats directed at European military bases.

The situation remains highly volatile, with ongoing concerns regarding Iran’s activities within the strait. The U.S. continues to monitor the situation and maintain a robust defense of the critical waterway.
