Increased Inspections Conducted on Kosovan Dairy Market
The Ministry of Industry, Enterprise, Trade and Innovation (MINTI), in collaboration with the Central Inspection of Market Supervision (IQMT) and the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), has intensified its oversight of the dairy product market across Kosovo. The initiative seeks to safeguard consumer interests and bolster transparency within the sector, specifically concerning the accurate declaration and labeling of food products. The coordinated inspections, conducted throughout four cities – Pristina, Ferizaj, Gjilan, and Mitrovica – involved a total of seven inspections.
Following these assessments, six cases were forwarded for further procedural review, while one was resolved. MINTI emphasized the importance of compliance for all businesses involved in the production, import, distribution, and sale of dairy products. The agency reiterated its commitment to maintaining market integrity and ensuring adherence to established regulations.
The AUV’s involvement highlights a joint effort to monitor food safety standards and promote responsible practices within the Kosovan dairy market. Ongoing inspections will continue to focus on verifying product information and maintaining consumer confidence.
