The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) will contest the June 7th parliamentary elections independently, according to a statement by former AAK MP, Besnik Tahiri. Speaking to Ekonomia Online, Tahiri confirmed that despite prior discussions regarding potential coalitions, AAK had solidified its decision to operate alone. Tahiri described the AAK’s approach as a “competitive” list, emphasizing the party’s intention to campaign as a singular political subject.
He noted that coalition talks concluded on May 7th, the final certification deadline. “Tomorrow is May 7th, it’s the last day when coalitions are certified. I can inform you that the Alliance will only compete, there will be no coalition,” Tahiri stated.
He asserted that AAK believes it is stronger when operating independently. While discussions about alliances were explored, Tahiri indicated that the party’s position was established early on. The Alliance will field a list of candidates, incorporating existing AAK personnel alongside others, and will campaign solely under the Alliance banner.
Tahiri’s announcement signals a definitive end to coalition negotiations for the AAK.
