OVL-UÇK: Pressuring the court to rule on the case of the Albanian soldier and others is a heavy blow from The Hague, react financial institutions

OVL-UÇK Criticizes Hague Delay in Verdict for Former KLA Leaders

The Organization of War Veterans of the UÇK (OVL-UÇK) has issued a statement expressing serious concerns regarding the postponement of the verdict for former UÇK leaders currently under trial at The Hague. The organization views this delay as a significant setback for justice and human rights. In a press release issued today, OVL-UÇK stated that six years and nearly six months of detention without a final judgment constitutes an unacceptable procedural lapse.

They argue that this situation represents a form of punishment lacking judicial review. “No funded court in the name of democracy can normalize such treatment of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, whose war opened the way for the freedom and citizenship of Kosovo,” the statement read. The group contends that the postponement deepens an existing injustice.

OVL-UÇK further urged funding entities to address this situation. The organization considers the postponement a significant blow from The Hague, demanding a swift resolution to the case. The statement emphasized the importance of upholding the rights of individuals involved in the conflict that led to Kosovo’s independence.
