LSDM: The government’s delayed action has had no effect, and fuel prices will rise again.

The opposition LSDM party asserts that the government’s VAT reduction on fuel, dropping from 18% to 10%, is both delayed and ultimately unsuccessful. They argue that fuel prices will inevitably escalate once more, leaving citizens without any tangible relief. Over the past three weeks, while Prime Minister Mickoski remained inactive, fuel prices have surged dramatically.

Specifically, oil has increased by roughly 21 denars, and a further rise of 4 to 6 denars is anticipated for today’s prices. This clearly demonstrates that Mickoski’s hesitant measure will prove inadequate in preventing these price increases. LSDM contends that the government’s delayed response is inflicting significant financial hardship on citizens.

To date, more than 4.5 million euros have been spent on fuel purchases alone. The party emphasizes that rising fuel costs will directly translate into higher food prices, further burdening households. They maintain that the current situation highlights a lack of decisive action by the ruling administration.

The impact on everyday citizens regarding fuel prices remains a serious concern for the LSDM.
