Former Kosovo Advisor Details Growing Rift Between Osmani and Kurti
Prishtina, Kosovo – Kreshnik Çollaku, a former advisor to the President of Kosovo, has discussed the escalating tensions between President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, describing a “major break” between the two figures. Speaking on the situation within Kosovo, Çollaku cited a specific event as a catalyst for the division. According to Çollaku, the primary source of contention stemmed from President Osmani’s role in securing Kosovo’s membership into the United Nations Peace Council.
He stated that this action created a significant divergence of opinion, a feeling he witnessed firsthand. “It was the participation of Vjosa and the membership of Kosovo because of Vjosa in the Peace Council,” Çollaku explained. “I tell you as a witness, I felt a strong break.
The public may have read such a strong break as we were inside, but a difference seemed.”
Çollaku suggested that this development was also recognized by the Kosovo public. He alluded to a period of heightened engagement from the office of the President, noting a “tension and…” before concluding his remarks. The comments come amidst ongoing political disagreements between the governing parties in Kosovo.
The situation remains a point of concern as the country navigates its political landscape.
