Political parties across the country have until today to finalize and submit their candidate lists for consideration in the upcoming early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026. The Commission for the Elections and Voter Registration (CEC) announced that the deadline for submissions closes at midnight. CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, confirmed that the 11-day period for political subjects – encompassing political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives, and independent candidates – to submit their lists expires tonight.

“Today, at 24:00, the deadline closes for political subjects to submit their candidate lists for parliamentarians aiming for certification to participate in the June 7 elections,” Elezi stated. Submissions will be made through the designated electronic platform, utilizing the same procedure established during the previous elections. A total of 27 political subjects are anticipated to participate in the elections, comprising 22 political parties and 5 civic initiatives.

The process is designed to ensure the certification of candidates before the June 7th voting date. The deadline for submitting lists today is crucial for all parties involved.
