Skopje-Bllacë Highway Remains Under Assessment, Work Anticipated
The Skopje-Bllacë highway project remains in its initial state as of today, with no active construction work currently underway at the site. According to Koce Trajanovski, Director of the State Road Enterprise, a preliminary project evaluation is ongoing. Trajanovski stated that the assessment is nearing completion and that work is expected to commence shortly.
The project, funded by the European Bank for Development, is proceeding through its final stages. While the selection process is still unofficial, local company “GRANIT” is reportedly favored to undertake the construction. Trajanovski emphasized that the planned highway design will remain unchanged.
“We are currently in the assessment phase,” Trajanovski explained. “We anticipate beginning work soon, and the project will deliver a highway as originally conceived. These analyses are primarily for the State Enterprise’s internal use.”
The European Bank for Development is involved in the final stages of the project approval.
Further updates are expected as the project moves towards implementation.
