Hoti reacts to first place on the LDK list

Hoti Addresses Reports Regarding Parliamentary Candidate List

Kosovar Democratic League (LDK) member of the Executive Board, Avdullah Hoti, has responded to recent reports indicating he was not included among the ten candidate deputies for the upcoming parliamentary elections on June 7th. Through a Facebook post, Hoti expressed his perspective on the selection process. The statement read, “The only number that matters is the number of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Other numbers are determined by citizens.” This comment reflects the LDK’s emphasis on overall party support rather than individual candidate positions. The deadline for political parties to submit their finalized candidate lists to the Central Election Commission (CEC) concluded tonight at midnight. According to CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi, all candidates will undergo a verification process as part of the standard procedure.

Elezi stated to Kosova Press that the verification process will ensure compliance with election regulations. The focus remains on the final composition of the parliamentary slate, with the LDK highlighting the importance of the party’s overall electoral success – a key “number” – as determined by voter turnout. This situation underscores the ongoing process of candidate selection within the Democratic party.
