Strong Winds Trigger Numerous Emergency Interventions Across Kosovo

Strong winds have caused widespread disruption and necessitated numerous emergency interventions across Prishtina and several regions of Kosovo today. A coordinated response was launched by multiple agencies following a series of incidents related to the severe weather. According to a statement from the Directorate for Safety and Emergency, the Professional Fire Brigade, alongside emergency teams from the Green Public Enterprise and the Capital Police Directorate, conducted a total of 17 interventions within the territory of Prishtina and Fushe Kosova.

The primary focus of these interventions involved addressing damage caused by the strong winds. Specifically, teams were deployed to remove damaged banners, signs, and billboards. Additionally, crews engaged in cutting trees to prevent further damage and responded to several minor fire cases.

One intervention occurred in the Dardania neighborhood for the removal of a banner, while another was undertaken on “Aziz Abrashi” street to address a fallen sign. Furthermore, the Urban Traffic Directorate carried out interventions related to fallen signage. The Directorate for Safety and Emergency emphasized the coordinated efforts of all involved agencies in responding to these urgent situations.
