MP Mirena Criticizes Frequent Elections Impacting Top 20 List
Mirena, a Member of Parliament, voiced concerns regarding the impact of frequent parliamentary elections on the composition of the “top 20” list, as discussed on the “Pressing” program on T7. He asserted that it is unrealistic to consistently appoint new and qualified individuals to this ranking. Mirena attributed this challenge to the recent history of Albania, noting that the country has held three parliamentary elections within the past 16 months.
“With every election cycle, new and qualified names inevitably emerge within the top 20 – this is simply not sustainable,” he explained. The MP emphasized that rapid changes in government leadership hinder sustained progress. “With the same individuals, achieving meaningful results within 16 months is an impossibility,” Mirena stated.
He highlighted the instability created by continuous elections and its effect on the ability to build a stable and effective leadership structure. The discussion centered on the implications for the “top 20” list, a recognized ranking of prominent figures, and the challenges presented by the political landscape.
