Police Investigate Incident Involving Timber Transport Vehicle at National Park

On May 12, 2026, at approximately 6:30 PM, police officers, in conjunction with forestry officials, encountered a modified dump truck within Sharri National Park during a routine patrol. The vehicle was stopped as part of standard operations. Three individuals were present in the truck at the time of the encounter.

Following the stop, two occupants repeatedly obstructed police officers while they were carrying out their duties. During the arrest of the driver, a second individual continued to impede the officers’ actions while holding a handheld radar device. The incident prompted a formal investigation by the station’s investigation unit.

Authorities have contacted the state prosecutor, who has ordered the initiation of a criminal case against two of the individuals involved.
