Two Doctors Arrested in Mitrovica on Bribery Suspicions

The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica has announced the arrest of two doctors, identified as E.S. and V.R., both associated with the Hospital in Kosovar North. The arrests stem from suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “bribery,” according to an official statement released by the Prosecution.

Investigations indicate that the suspects are alleged to have sought and received monetary compensation from patients in exchange for the provision of healthcare services. Preliminary findings implicate E.S. in three instances of bribery, while V.R.

is suspected in five separate cases. Following a decision by the prosecutor, both individuals have been placed under a 48-hour detention measure. The Prosecution anticipates submitting a request for security measures against the suspects within the legally mandated timeframe.

The Prosecution emphasized its ongoing commitment to combating corruption, addressing the abuse of official duties, and reinforcing the rule of law within the healthcare system.
