New Law on Nature Protection Now in Effect, Says Minister Hoxha
The Law on Nature Protection has been implemented, according to Minister of Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning, Muhamet Hoxha. The legislation is anticipated to significantly strengthen the system for nature protection and contribute to the preservation and advancement of the natural environment. Hoxha emphasized that the law’s approval will facilitate the reinforcement of environmental safeguards, alongside the management of natural resources.
Furthermore, it will align with European directives and fulfill Albania’s international commitments concerning Environmental Protection and biodiversity. A key focus of the new law is the development of regional centers for waste collection. These centers will be funded through European Union and Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) funds.
The Minister highlighted the importance of these projects in bolstering environmental protection efforts. “The construction of waste collection regional centers remains a priority,” Hoxha stated. The implementation of this law represents a crucial step in bolstering Albania’s commitment to sustainable practices and comprehensive nature protection.
