The hearing in the “Onkologjia 2” case at the Criminal Court was abruptly halted today due to the withdrawal of defense attorney Anita Begova, who represented the defendant, Nehad Nuhi. Her decision stemmed from dissatisfaction with the Prosecution’s presentation of the presented evidence. Subsequently, the court imposed a fine of 500 euros upon her.
During the session, the Prosecution initiated the presentation of substantial material evidence. This included approximately 180 pages of documents detailing drug procurement activities, public procurement contracts, and relevant financial reports. A segment of the defense team advocated for a more granular approach, arguing that the evidence should be examined individually.
However, the Prosecution maintained that the information was already comprehensively covered within the economic expert report, and a detailed re-examination was deemed superfluous. The Prosecutor stated, “I will review the archive file according to the file, with sections related to the raw data.” This disagreement highlighted a key point of contention within the ongoing court case, “Onkologjia 2.”
