The medication supply for patients at QKUK, Vitia, has been resolved. Health Minister Arben Vitia affirmed in a conversation with Ekonomia Online that the entire inventory managed by the Shërbimi Spitalor dhe Klinik Universitar të Kosovës (SHSKUK) is now openly available. This follows concerns regarding significant shortages of vital medicines within the QKK clinics, especially impacting individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
Vitia explained that persistent, though often unsubstantiated, reports of medication scarcity had been received. He detailed that these ongoing reports, frequently lacking verification, highlighted a consistent issue. Consequently, through the SHSKUK governing body, he initiated a formal request to address the situation.
The minister emphasized the importance of ensuring all patients receive the necessary treatments. The decision to make the complete SHSKUK stock accessible represents a direct response to these concerns and aims to eliminate any future disruptions in medication access for those relying on QKK services.
