Ademi: We do not accept half-measures for the jurisprudence exam in Albanian; implement the law.

Mevlan Ademi, an organizer of student protests, has stated that the protesters will reject any partial resolutions concerning the jurisprudence exam for the Albanian language. In a direct statement, Ademi asserted that any effort to propose a “semi-solution” or workaround to the existing Law on the Use of Languages is unacceptable. According to Ademi, the issue of the Albanian language is fundamentally a matter of constitutional and legal right, rather than a subject open to negotiation, favor, or compromise.

He argued that the focus should not be on inventing new solutions, as the necessary legal framework already exists. Therefore, he called for the immediate implementation of the law as written, dismissing the need for additional verifications or interpretive processes that merely cause delays. The protest movement maintains that the solution is already established within the law itself.

This firm stance contrasts with recent statements, such as one made yesterday by Deputy Prime Minister Bekim Sali, who addressed the theoretical component of the examination. Ademi’s remarks underscore a deep dissatisfaction with the current procedural approach. He emphasized that the rights pertaining to the Albanian language must be treated as non-negotiable.

The core message conveyed by Ademi is that the government must proceed with the full implementation of existing statutes, rather than proposing incremental or partial remedies. The protesters maintain that these proposed workarounds do not address the fundamental legal guarantee that they believe is being overlooked.
