Black smoke from thermal power plants, Hasanpapaj: Terrifying, Kosovo needs light and white smoke in the Obelisk

Bardhyl Hasanpapaj, a candidate for deputy representing the Democratic League of Kosovo, addressed public dissatisfaction regarding environmental pollution and what he termed false propaganda within Kosovo. Hasanpapaj emphasized the necessity for a transparent and clear approach to the development of the Parliament. He argued that the city and its industries should not be overshadowed by what he described as the “black smoke of digital propaganda.”

Speaking on the social media platform Facebook, Hasanpapaj utilized the smoke metaphor to critique the current political atmosphere.

He stated that the nation was weary of the “black smoke” emanating from Parliament, which, in his view, was being obscured by digital misinformation. Instead, he called for an influx of clarity, suggesting that Kosovo needed “white smoke” within its legislative body and the “white light” provided by concrete policy programs. His remarks included direct criticism aimed at the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the presidency.

The candidate juxtaposed the tangible issue of air pollution with the perceived pollution of political discourse. Hasanpapaj’s statements centered on a call for accountability, asserting that the public interest in Kosovo required a shift away from what he characterized as obfuscation toward verifiable governance and development initiatives. The core message remained a plea for transparency to guide the nation’s political direction.
