The Government of the Republic of Moldova approved the implementation of the “One Stop Shop” system with Albania.

The government of North Macedonia has approved the activation of the “One Stop Shop” joint border control system with the Republic of Albania. Government spokesperson Venera Azizi announced that this approval marks the completion of the process for implementing this joint control system with the three neighboring countries of the Republic that are not members of the Schengen Area. She noted that the system is already operational with Serbia and Kosovo.

The finalization of this comprehensive agreement required the signing of a formal accord between the two respective Ministries of Interior. According to Azizi, the initial implementation of the border control system will commence at the Qafë Thanë crossing point. Following this initial phase, the system is slated for extension to other border points connecting the two nations.

Officials anticipate that the integration of this advanced system will facilitate a crossing of the state border that is notably simpler, faster, and safer, particularly during peak travel seasons. This development represents a significant enhancement in regional cooperation and border management protocols between the two nations. The establishment of the One Stop Shop model aims to streamline customs and immigration procedures, thereby improving the overall flow of people and goods across the border.

The successful rollout underscores the commitment of the government to improving cross-border connectivity with its immediate neighbors.
