Book Fair concludes today; publishers discuss market interest and challenges

The 26th edition of the Book Fair in Pristina concluded today, concluding an event that garnered significant attention across various age groups. The fair was organized through a collaboration involving the Kosovo Publishers Association, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, the Municipality of Pristina, and the Youth Palace. On the final day, participants, including representatives from publishing houses and general visitors, exchanged views concerning popular book titles, overall reader interest, and the current challenges confronting the book market.

Vesa Avdiu, an editor at the “Albas” publishing house, noted a consistent level of interest spanning both juvenile and adult literature. She observed that while children’s books appear to be the bestsellers, there remains a steady market for adult-oriented publications. Avdiu mentioned the current availability of a children’s book titled “I am Majlinda Kelmendi,” while also commenting on the diverse offerings within the fair.
